The Poetry Box LIVE for KIDS!
On Saturday, April 9 at 5 pm EST, I will be Zoom reading (with poet/photographer Debbie Hall) from my book of poems for children: The Galloping Garbage Truck (Kelsay Books). Please join me/us!
The entire show will be approximately 40 minutes, and it will be a wonderful way to share the joy of poetry and books with your children and grandchildren.
What an honor for me to read with Debbie. Her book—In the Jaguar’s House (The Poetry Box)—is as gorgeous as it is fun and interesting, with each poem accompanied by one of Debbie’s photographs.

Release Date - The Galloping Garbage Truck
In the glowing charm of retirement living and
two adorable grandsons (not to mention 2 more grand-nephews…1 grand-niece…the births of our exchange student’s daughter and another\exchange student’s son!), I began to write poems for and about these little ones.
The result is The Galloping Garbage Truck, which has been published June 2021 by Kelsay Books (DaffyDownDilly Press). It is an exciting and satisfying feeling to know that these poems will soon be available for a larger audience of small children. From “How to Make a Grumpy Boy Smile,” “The Wiggle-Waggle Brothers,” to “The Girl with the Bow in Her Hair,” and 21 more whimsical poems, I hope the joy I felt when writing translates into joyful reading.
