Tiny Beautiful Things
In May, I decided to focus my Facebook and Instagram pages on something that was not political or controversial in any way. I was seeking a kind of respite or relief from things that made me sad or angry or frustrated.
My decision led me to 31 Days of Lake Life, a photo retrospective of life on the tiny lake where my husband, Al, and I make our home.
It was fun to think about the ways that I could show our lake, and I thought that kind of focus would be done when June rolled around.
And then a friend, Lark, asked me... “What’s next?”
When I asked her for suggestions, she recommended little things...bird’s eye views...concentrations on things we might miss when traversing busy days.
From that (virtual) conversation was born 30 days of Tiny, Beautiful Things. The name comes from a book of the same title by Cheryl Strayed (who wrote Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail). I highly recommend both books!!
This blog post marks the end of Tiny Beautiful Things but not the end of my looking more closely at the wonders of nature, artwork, and beautiful things that fill my days. Here are a few of my favorite photos from June...
